Jag fick ett tips av en av Valves programmerare att en beta-version av Steam 3 finns ute för test. I denna beta version så finns det ett antal buggfixar och förbättringar, men den största nyheten är att Friends fungerar i den!
Jag är lite osäker på hur många som känner till detta, så jag skickar vidare informationen till er alla.
Kom ihåg att denna version av Steam är en beta-version, och kan ha problem som inte dagens stabila version har. Fördelen är dock att Friends fungerar. Jag har hittils inte haft något problem med den dock!
För att ladda ner Friends-betan, gör såhär.
1. Se till att Steam är nerstängt!
2. Lägg till följande switchar i din genväg till Steam.exe
-clientbeta steam3friends -beta steam3friends
Alternativt
Starta en kommandoprompt. ( Start >Kör >Skriv: cmd <enter> )
Gå till katalogen med steam.exe. ( c:\>cd väg/till/Valve/Steam/ )
Skriv: steam.exe -clientbeta steam3friends -beta steam3friends <enter>
5. Varje gång du ska starta Steam och vill ha Friends så måste du starta med tilläggen ovan. Startar du steam utan tilläggsraderna ovan så startas Steam som vanligt och en "backning" sker till publik stabil version, utan att skada installationen. Får du problem kan detta vara bra att känna till.

* fixed right-clicking to bring up a context menu not working if the context menu was already open, in the friends and games lists
* changed it so any unanswered friendship requests in the game show outside the game after the user quits

* changed friends name input in friends->option->edit profile to allow a max of 127 characters for the player name
* fixed crash in localized string construction due to an off-by-one error in it's string manipulation code, yielded a crash on entering a long friends name
* fixed chat dialogs stealing focus when receiving a new message
Steam:
* changed Steam when on system startup, to not show the retry connection dialog immediately, but to wait 20 seconds and then retry - this is to give systems with networking that takes a while to start a chance to
* fixed regression where launching a game would delete its launch options

Jag väntar tills den riktiga verisionen kommer ut, jag är så dålig på att gå in o trycka på massa  blir bara fel

Här är uppdateringarna. Valve berättade även att det finns fler uppdateringar under huven som de smygit in..
